Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Are my investments safe?

Yes. U.S. Treasury securities are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. They have never defaulted in over 200 years of history.

What is the minimum investment?

You can start with as little as $100. There is no maximum — you can invest as much as you like.

How do I receive interest payments?

T-Notes and T-Bonds pay semi-annual coupon interest directly to your BondBridge account. T-Bills are sold at a discount and pay out the full face value at maturity.

Can I sell my bonds before maturity?

Treasury securities trade on a highly liquid secondary market. You can request an early sale from your dashboard at any time, subject to current market prices.

Are Treasury bond returns taxable?

Interest from U.S. Treasury securities is subject to federal income tax but is exempt from state and local taxes — a meaningful advantage over many other fixed-income options.

How does BondBridge make money?

We charge a small flat fee per transaction. There are no hidden management fees, no annual charges, and no percentage taken from your returns.
